An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards (110 = 12st 4lbs)
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Top weight after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st 4lbs and the minimum weight is 10st 7lbs. Note The Rules and instructions relating to the Overnight Nomination of Riders shall not apply in this instance. The top 8 horses declared in race card order will be allocated riders from the selected British based and Irish based Riders team by lot. Trainers of any remaining horses in this race should declare a rider of their choice. The draw for riders will take place at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 8th November with the toss of a coin to determine which team draws odd or even numbers. Individual riders will then be drawn by ballot. Points will be scored by the first eight placed horses on a scale of 15-12-10-8-7-6-5-4, if the horse is eligible to score points, and the team that accumulates the highest number of points will be deemed the winner. In the event of there being less than 8 horses declared or a non-runner the equivalent rider in the opposing team eg. Nos. 1 & 2, Nos 3 & 4 etc., will not be eligible to score points. Riders in the challenge will wear the Registered colours with each country's team wearing a distinguishing

He’s a grand horse. These stores would want to come with a health warning, they just take forever,. We bought him at Tattersalls. Just by the stallion, he has no page whatsoever. He’s a good-looking horse, very correct. I got him cheap enough, five grand, but nobody had looked at the passport and when we got him home we discovered he was a four-year-old, not a three-year-old. That’s why we called him A Year Older. He jumps and he’s slow. He’ll do a job somewhere, he has the same mark over fences. The nicer ground probably helped him and there might be another day in him.

He’s a grand horse. He came from Gordon’s a while back and he’s been disappointing a couple of times. Joey said they went a real good gallop and I’d say it played to a late closer. Joey gave him a brilliant ride. They went a bit quick and I’d say conditions just fell right for him, more than anything else. There weren’t too many horses in the race gave themselves chances of winning. I wouldn’t go over-reacting but it was lovely to get it. He has been a disappointing horse, his work is okay at home. Hopefully he might get a bit of confidence and build on that now.

I’m thrilled. Darragh and I would be very good friends, we don’t get him as often now as we have our own people at home. I’m delighted to support him and try and get him a winner or two. It’s wonderful for the owners (Nice Little Earner Syndicate), they are a great bunch of guys. He ran a nice race in Cork the last day. I said to Darragh that he was probably a big horse for around here and to take his time and sneak away. He’s class. Tiernan (Power Roche) gave the other horse (Plain Or Battered) a very good ride to finish second as well, he stayed going really well. I didn’t think either horse would handle the track but, with the night that’s in it (leading the William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series), we had to give it a good go. It’s marvellous that it’s paid off. Winning the series is huge and that helps with the stable staff prize as well. I know Gavin (Cromwell) is chasing us hard for that. It’s lovely winning my own prize, but it would be fabulous if we could win the stable staff one as well.
