Cheltenham weights revealed
The weights for the 11 Festival handicaps were revealed today at the Cheltenham Countdown with just 13 days to go until the meeting gets underway on Tuesday 15th March.
Popular veteran Garde Champetre has been allotted top-weight for the Glenfarclas Cross-Country Handicap Steeple Chase whilst a good run from Molotof at Kempton last weekend has seen Nicky Henderson's juvenile handed top-weight for the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle.
Henderson has a strong hand in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Handicap Steeple Chase as he's responsible for three of the four top-weights with French Opera, Mad Max and Voy Por Ustedes as well as housing more fancied runners in Tanks For That and Anquetta.
There has been plenty of support for For Non Stop in the Coral Cup in recent weeks but Nick Williams' charge will need several rivals to come out to be guaranteed a run.
Competition to get a run in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle is fierce with 157 entries, of whom, eight currently share top-weight and those set to carry less than 11 stone could struggle to make the final field.
