Commander to work at Kempton

Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Imperial Commander will step up the countdown to next month's Prestbury Park feature by working before racing at Kempton on Saturday.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies stable star will be put through his places over two miles before racing gets under way at 2pm.

Imperial Commander, who missed Kempton Park's William Hill King George VI Chase last month through injury, is back on track to defend his crown on the Cotswolds next month.

Meanwhile stablemate and Champion Hurdle contender Khyber Kim will also do a seperate gallop at Kempton before racing.

Amy Starkey, Kempton Park's managing director, said: "Racing Post Chase day is one of our two showpiece occasions in the calendar. Having the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner hero galloping over two miles will be a special bonus for our spectators."
