Don't Miss 2.45 Sandown According To Dick

According To Dick, who scored in a Loughbrickland point-to-point back in April for Trevor Horgan and owner Dick Frisby bids to get his career back on track at Sandown today following an Exeter reverse last time. The good-looking son of Accordion was sold to Aiden Murphy the following Wednesday after his win 'between the flags' at Brightwells' Cheltenham Sale for #205,000.

Since then the six-year-old got off to the best possible start for his new connections of Diana Whateley and Philip Hobbs, impressively landing a Cheltenham bumper. Hobbs said after that: "We all knew he was an exciting prospect but he could be a bit keen so it was good to see him settle well at Cheltenham. The preferred option now is to start him off over hurdles. I thought before he won that he was one of our nicest prospects, and he did nothing to change that view."

The way the betting is shaping up this morning, Richard Johnson's mount is expected to put his odds-on defeat from 108 days behind him. He must concede weight to the four-year-old, Royal Charm, making his debut for Paul Nicholls and Ruby Walsh. The other big player in the market is Burton Port, who won at Summerhill for Colin McKeever back last April. Nicky Henderson has since won a bumper and a hurdle with the Bob Back gelding but he'll likely find life tough here with Barry Geraghty up, under a penalty. (EM)
