Drumconnor has options if missing cut at Cheltenham

Adrian Keatley will not be too disheartened if Drumconnor Lad does not make the cut for the Close Brothers Novices' Handicap Chase at Cheltenham on March 13th.

Keatley has several options for the improving young chaser, who won nicely at Navan last month.

Drumconnor Lad has been allotted 10st 11lb for the Listed race over two and a half miles.

Keatley said: There are plenty of handicaps and different races coming up for him in the next few weeks.

"It would be nice if he got into Cheltenham but it's not the end of the world.

"If he gets in we'll go, if not we'll be staying at home with him and grabbing as much as we can with him in the spring.

"He'll prefer a bit of nice ground."
