J'Y Vole books Ryanair ticket

J'y Vole booked her ticket for the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival with a wide-margin victory in the Red Mills Chase at Gowran on Saturday.

Willie Mullins' charge was a well-backed 11-8 favourite in the Grade Two heat and was still cruising under Paul Townend three fences from home.

Watson Lake and Siegemaster had set the early pace, but they were left standing as Townend kicked on before the last and J'y Vole was barely troubled in pulling 15 lengths clear.

The seven-year-old finished fifth in the Triumph Hurdle at the Festival in 2007 and a return to Prestbury Park is now the plan.

Mullins said: "On that performance she's improving. Paul gets on well with her and she'll probably go for the Ryanair Chase now."
