- McCoy At Concerto Pitch
McCoy At Concerto Pitch
Tony McCoy cannot wait to get the leg up on Aran Concerto in the Ballymore Properties Novices' Hurdle on Wednesday.
Noel Meade's impressive-looking six-year-old has already won twice at the highest level and is rated one of the bets of the Cheltenham Festival by many.
However, he has been ridden to those successes by Paul Carberry, who is missing the whole meeting due to a foot injury, leaving the door open for the champion jockey.
'He looks a very good horse. It's hard luck on Paul Carberry to miss the Festival, but somebody has to ride it,' said McCoy.
'It's disappointing for him and obviously I'm very lucky to be riding Aran Concerto,' he told At The Races.
'He does look a very good horse. He's been very impressive so far in Ireland, Noel thinks a lot of him and I've been very lucky that the owners have let me on him. Hopefully, I won't let them down.
'He has been impressive to date but of the British I would say that Paul Nicholls' Silverburn looks the biggest danger.
'His form is pretty solid, he was second to Wichita Lineman earlier in the season when he didn't really settle which probably cost him the race.
'My Turn Now is not a bad horse either.'
