Power not worried about John's stamina

Robbie Power is "confident" Sizing John will not be wanting for stamina up the Cheltenham hill in Friday's Timico Gold Cup.

Last year's Arkle runner-up will become Jessica Harrington's first runner in the blue riband event at the Festival.

Having stepped out of Douvan's shadow since stepping up in trip, he won the Irish Gold Cup last month to set up a tilt at the big one.

Power told At The Races: "I've no doubt about him staying, I'd be very confident he'd stay. His pedigree suggests he'll stay and all his home work suggests he'll stay. We'll know next week for definite.

"He galloped to the line the whole way in the Irish Gold Cup, and I think the main thing with him as well is that having been beaten by Douvan he's got a lot of confidence back. He went to Thurles and got his head in front, and now again.

"He seems in better form now than going to Leopardstown, so fingers crossed everything stays right between now and next Friday."
