Daboya belies market drift to win for Donohoe Despite proving rather friendless in the market, the Dick Donohoe trained Daboya belied that lack of support when keeping on strongly to win the PANDA Mares Hurdle. Sent off 9/1, having been half those odds in the morning, the grey mare recorded a sixth career win. Pushed along to go second at the penultimate flight, the five-year-old found plenty for rider Danny Mullins to close on leader Speisialta approaching the last. Getting to the front with less than 100 yards to race, Daboya prevailed by one-and-three-quarter lengths. Dick Donohoe said: Dick Donohoe said: "I was delighted when they (three hurdles) came out, it was more like a Flat race. As well as that, she had so little experience, she won in Thurles after jumping really novicey. She has only had three runs (over hurdles), and we didn't do a lot of schooling with her. Danny sits up on her the odd day and does a lovely job for us. "She has been in great form all summer, she has won two and was second in Tramore the last day. She's a tough mare. "We'll look for another one of those mares' novices' hurdles probably, and maybe go back on the Flat too, until the ground gets heavy.
