Silver set for Naas prep

Golden Silver will bid to continue his excellent run of form in the paddypower.com Chase at Naas on Sunday.

The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old is enjoying an excellent campaign, winning three times, including when getting the better of Big Zeb in last month's Tied Cottage Chase at Punchestown.

All going well this weekend, a trip to the Cheltenham Festival will be on the cards, but Archie O'Leary, husband of the owner Violet, insists no decision has been made on whether he will contest the Ryanair Chase or the Queen Mother.

"I think that you can take it that Golden Silver will be running on Sunday," said O'Leary.

"I'm not sure how his gallop went this morning but I spoke to Willie yesterday and he said that 'we'll go on Sunday'.

"I take it that the gallop went well as he hasn't rung me and you only hear from a trainer after a gallop if something went wrong.

"Heavy ground at Naas would be perfect and hopefully it will go smoothly and then it is on to Cheltenham.

"However, still no decision has been made about whether he'll go for the Queen Mother Champion Chase or the Ryanair Chase and you'll have to ask Willie on Sunday!"

Golden Silver is currently 12-1 for the Champion Chase and 10-1 for the Ryanair with Paddy Power.
