The Storyteller Out

The Storyteller, the well-backed 4/1 favourite for the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockey's Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham next Friday, is the latest in a long line of fancied horses to miss the Festival.

Gordon Elliott said on his Betfair blog: "unfortunately The Storyteller pulled a muscle while exercising this morning and will not make it to Cheltenham."

Elliott has made no secret of the fact that the 'Martin Pipe' race is the one he is most eager to win at Cheltenham having started his career under the guidance of the retired trainer.

He made 24 entries for the race this year so he has plenty more to choose from to take place of The Storyteller.
