World Hurdle Hope at Down Royal
Ladbrokes World Hurdle hope, Powerstation has been declared for the Bank Of Ireland Business & Retail Hurdle at Down Royal tomorrow, with Andrew McNamara 'jocked-up.'
Seventeen are engaged for this two and a half miler and Eamonn O'Connell's gelding with a rating of 145 is a long way clear of the next one in possession of an official mark, Baily View off 125. Merdeka is next on 123 and then there is Buachaill On Eirne on 117.
Last time out, Powerstation finished runner-up to Fair Along, in the Cleanevent Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham back in November, when conceding eight pounds to the neck victor.
Punters should bear in mind though, that when under the care of Mick Phillips, Powerstation went down by thirteen lengths under Ruby Walsh, to the 2006 Galway Plate hero, Far From Trouble, in the corresponding event at the Maze in 2007. (EM)
