Formscan - An intriguing renewal sees JONBON make his second appearance in open company following his Celebration Chase victory at Sandown on the final day of last season. His sole defeats have come at the Festival, when bumping into two superstars in the shape of Constitution Hill and El Fabiolo, but there is no reason to suggest the track is an issue and he has reportedly been pleasing connections in recent weeks. Edwardstone ran no sort of race when a disappointing fifth in the Champion Chase but the nine-year-old, an impressive winner of the Tingle Creek on his reappearance last term, remains a force to be reckoned with. Nube Negra, who bids for a third win in a row in this contest, is a big danger to all when fresh, while Editeur Du Gite is expected to improve from his return in the Haldon Gold Cup.
