Cheltenham Enclosures Packed with Racegoers
Healy Racing PhotosCheltenham racecourse is the home of jump racing and their big annual festival takes place in March. Hundreds of thousands of people will attend the four-day fixture, some of whom have never been to the track before.
If you’re considering buying tickets, there’s lots to consider with regards to pricing and the different Cheltenham enclosures.
Fear not, though, as this guide tells you all you need to know about the various enclosures and the cost of entry at each.
Best Mate Enclosure Cheltenham
The cheapest of the three areas is the Best Mate Enclosure and it is famous for having an excellent atmosphere, especially during the Festival. It offers views opposite the finishing line and a head on view of the racecourse.

Healy Racing PhotosDuring the Festival there is also the Best Mate Pavillion which has live music and a covered grandstand, in case the rain comes. Disabled access is also available and there’s even on-course wifi.
There are bars aplenty, providing numerous opportunities for a pint of the black stuff or a glass of prosecco! Various food outlets are also available so you won’t go hungry either.

Tattersalls Enclosure Cheltenham
The next tier is the Tattersalls enclosure which is part of the main section of the racecourse and you can see the finishing line, as well as a side on view of the final furlong and the last fence.

Healy Racing PhotosThe main grandstand offers shelter from the rain and a brilliant atmosphere. Access to the pre parade ring, parade ring and winners enclosure is also granted for those who want to get a sneak peek at the equine superstars on display.
There’s also a tented village, as well as the world-famous Guinness Village and shopping facilities. You can also listen to live music between races so there’s plenty to look forward to.

Cheltenham Club Enclosure
The Club Enclosure comes with many of the benefits of the Tattersalls Enclosure but with a few extra ones to boot . The views of the finishing line, final furlong and final fence are the same, as well as access to the parade rings and winners’ enclosure.
As well as entry to the Guinness Village, Shopping Village and live music, Club enclosure tickets also grant access to the Orchard and the steps at the front of the Princess Royal Stand.

What food is served at Cheltenham Club Enclosure?
The Club Enclosure offers the widest variety of food at the festival. The selection ranges from casual street food, gourmet burgers, and award-winning pies at the Mandarin Kitchen to tapas at Quevega's. Ticket holders can also access exclusive Champagne bars or multi-course fine dining if they upgrade to an official hospitality package.
Are there accessible viewing areas available?
Yes, Cheltenham Racecourse provides multiple dedicated accessible viewing areas across all its main enclosures, including the Club, Tattersalls, and Best Mate grandstands. These areas offer step-free access and excellent views of the track and Parade Ring, and they operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
