FAQ Cheltenham Tickets 2026
Will I be able to buy Cheltenham tickets on the day?
Yes, you can purchase walk-up tickets at the gates, but only if the specific race day and enclosure haven't already sold out.
How much is a ticket to Cheltenham races?
Ticket prices for the 2026 Cheltenham Festival vary by enclosure and how early you book, currently starting at £54 to £103.50.
When and why do Cheltenham ticket and package prices change?
Prices increase incrementally through tiered release windowsâfrom "Super Early Bird" to on-the-day "Gate Prices"âto reward early booking and help organizers manage capacity. Additionally, costs naturally fluctuate depending on the specific enclosure you choose and the overall demand for certain race days, with Gold Cup Friday always commanding the highest premium.
Can I upgrade my Cheltenham racecourse ticket?
Yes, you can upgrade your ticket to a more premium enclosure by paying the price difference, provided that the area hasn't already sold out. While you can often upgrade on the day for standard fixtures, you should contact the racecourse well in advance for major events.
If I can no longer attend, can I give my someone else Cheltenham ticket?
Yes, you can give your ticket to a friend or family member if you are unable to attend, provided you are not selling it for profit. The Jockey Club strictly prohibits the unauthorized resale of tickets (touting) and may cancel resold tickets, but gifting it to someone you know is perfectly fine. You can simply send them the "Print at Home" PDF, or they can download the official Cheltenham Racecourse App and import the digital ticket using the QR code and your order confirmation details.
Does the Cheltenham Racecourse offer voucher codes?
While traditional "promo codes" are rarely issued for highly anticipated events like the Gold Cup, The Jockey Club does provide several official ways to get discounted tickets. The most consistent ways to save include:RacePass 18to24, Student Discounts, Group Bookings and Multi-Day Tickets.
