Colin another for Ryan and Mullins
After their win with Reafadda yesterday, John Ryan and Danny Mullins registered another Ballinrobe success when Bitview Colin sprung a 25/1 surprise in the opening McHale Fusion 3 Rated Novice Hurdle. Tue 31st May
He was a very good horse over hurdles and was rated 120 at one stage. He got a bad leg injury and lost a good bit of time. It's great to see him back. He would be classier than most of those. He is a half-brother to Waitnsee and is out of Madame Stella who was a good mare in France. He has the pedigree. It's grand to see him back and he'll go for something similar now. Danny gave him a serious ride.
John Patrick Ryan
He was very good over hurdles where he won off 116 but obviously broke down and had his problems,. He is a class horse and was always capable of winning that type of race - I'll be disappointed if I don't hold on to it!
John Patrick Ryan
We were hitting the crossbar here all week so it's nice to get a winner. Bitview Colin had a serious leg injury and was off for two years. We nursed him, like all our horses, and I'd say if he was in another yard he probably wouldn't have come back. I ran him here the other evening and told James (O'Sullivan) to mind the horse and make sure he got around. He came out of that bouncing and I had him entered in this race so I decided to run him when the rain came, even though he'd like better ground. He was third in a valuable handicap hurdle here in 2016. He could make a nice novice chaser and it's possible he'll head to Killarney. He has a very illustrious sister Waitnsee (a dual winner for the yard) - she is a proper proper mare and they are out of a dam who cost quarter of a million. It is a beautiful pedigree and he could make a nice little novice chaser.
John Patrick Ryan
I've always thought a lot of him and he's from a proper family and out of a mare who won three or four Grade 2's in France. He'll go for a novice hurdle next and is a lovely novice to have - the sky's the limit!
John Patrick Ryan
