Secretary Of State earned his reward for consistency when he defied top weight to land the feature Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery at ListowelMon 12th Sep
Wearing blinkers for the first time, Secretary Of State landed the feature race of the day, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery, for the father and son team of Aidan and Joseph O'Brien.

Johnny Murtagh was seen at his very best when guiding Zaralabad home in the www.thetote.com Kingdom Gold Cup Handicap at KillarneyWed 24th Aug
Unlucky in running here 12 months ago (4th then to Top Spin), Zaralabad, among the older generation of the 14 strong line-up for the www.thetote.com Kingdom Gold Cup Handicap, got the job done in the 2011 renewal of the valuable mile and three quarter contest to bring up a double for his pilot Johnny Murtagh (earlier successful on French Quebec) at Killarney.
Wed 24th Aug
French Quebec travelled much better to the business end of the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Killarney than any of her rivals but when the pressure was applied by her rider Johnny Murtagh, the twice previously raced juvenile swished her tail. That appeared to give the well-backed favourite Madhmoonah the advantage.

After race at
Killarney Wed, 24th Aug, 2011 (1st)
She's a difficult filly to read in the mornings in that she's very relaxed and she doesn't show a whole lot. Her last run worked out well (third to the subsequent Phoenix Stakes heroine La Collina) and Johnny liked her a lot and said that there is more to come. She appreciated the mile and maybe we'll go for the Flame Of Tara Stakes (at the Curragh on Sunday September 11th) now and give her a chance at some black- type. She had a little set-back since her last run (3rd to La Collina 74 days back) and she should come on again from this.
