Marvada comes late to nab Stylish One
The feature race on this evening's card at Limerick the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap lost some of its glamour with the defection of Drombeg Dawn (unseated her jockey on the way to the start), Headford Lady and Glamorous, but that didn't bother connections of the winner Marvada, who just got up to win on the line. Bonheur scores as Mast loses signal
Odds-on shot Rose Bonheur (1/2f) had a little luck on her side when losing her maiden tag in the Racing At Tipperary Maiden at Tipperary, making the most of Balmont Mast’s exit close home. Thu 28th Apr
I'm delighted. She's like a blue collar worker. She has worked her way up and has done it the hard way. She won her maiden at Down Royal and kept progressing. She showed a will to win in the last 50 yards. She wasn't mad about the ground, but she's nothing if not genuine and honest. We are thrilled. She deserved that. She has turned up in all the races. We knew she would get one eventually as she is not afraid of hard graft and hard work. We'll look at the Fairy Bridge Stakes and races like that. She'll get an entry for the Matron Stakes and she might take her chance if there's seven or eight runners as it's only up the road and she likes Leopardstown. It's my first Group winner since Norman Invader five years ago [Group 3 Round Tower Stakes on 2 Sep 2007 at the Curragh].

I genuinely thought that the Ballydoyle horse, Up would be too strong. With the weight thirteen pound in the difference I thought we were playing for second. They went slow enough early on. Shane said they went slow and that she loved the surface. In Meydan they tend to overwater the Turf, she wants fast ground and likes this surface. We will go for the Athasi Stakes (Curragh May 7th) next and then maybe the Ballyogan at Leopardstown.

there was always a little risk coming back so quick after her Curragh run but she is definitely happier on faster ground. We will give her a break of maybe three weeks now and she may go for a Listed or Group 3 next and try to get black-type over further. A stronger pace would have suited her better today as she stays a mile. She ‘went in her coat' in mid-September last year will be finished before then this year.

Shane (Foley) gave her a great ride. She didn't quite come down the hill, but Shane left her find her feet and he gave her an excellent ride. I wasn't sure where she would slot in as a 3yo in her first handicap. She will go for a fillies handicap now on Derby weekend at the Curragh.
K J Condon
She's been second the last twice and she'd been showing good form. You could say it was a matter of time before she won but she was stepping-up in trip there and there were some fancied horses in the race. She got the seven furlongs well and Shane knows her well. She's improving and she's entered at Tipperary next week. Hopefully she'll improve enough to get some black-type.
