Silver has Lyons Gleaming
Gleaming Silver is held in good regard by trainer Ger Lyons, and the grey daughter of Dalakhani repaid his confidence by swooping late down the centre of the course to land the mile maiden. Thu 28th May
She is a very adaptable filly both in terms of ground and riding tactics. I left a bit to work on before she won at Limerick as this race was always her Summer target. We own her ourselves and have taken our time with her. There is a Group 1 race at Deauville in August and that is likely to be her next target. She will be kept in training for next year and I am confident that you haven't seen the best of her yet.

We thought she'd win, it's great to win a Listed race and she's beautifully bred filly. We have no real plans for her, we'll either go for something similar or a Group 3. We may have to travel for that but that won't be a problem. Pat [Shanahan] gave her a great ride. This is our second time winning the race, we won it back in 2003 with Maharib and Pat was on board that day too.

The ground was drying up as the evening went on and that's as fast as he wants it. I probably won't run him on that kind of ground again,. The second horse is a Group 2 winner and loves fast ground. Pat said that even with the ground fast he wants to win and guts and courage won the day. Sometime during the year we'd love to have a crack at a Group 1 with him. He's in the Queen Anne at Ascot but that looks unlikely. A lot depends on the ground.
D K Weld
She did it well. She has been stakes placed and we'll see now if we can win a stakes race with her during the year,. She's a nice filly and is very well-bred as she's by Sadler's Wells out of a full-sister to Rock Of Gibraltar. She's the first one out of the mare. I thought she'd win today. She ran a very good race in stakes company at the Curragh last time. She's very adaptable as she's won on soft at Galway and she is just getting better.
D K Weld
She had to work hard and there is nothing easy at Galway,. She's a tough and very nice filly. The only concern beforehand was the ground but she battled well and won well.
