After race at Galway Thu, 30th Jul, 2026 (1st)  It is this dream you are chasing the whole time and Ella, my second child, has a tear in her eye leading him in and another daughter Clodagh is the same. I was under pressure today as I thought it was our race to lose which, for an outfit of our size, is pressure. The race didn't go to plan as he was going too well and then drifted wide, but once he knuckled down he settled it quickly. When Aintree went wrong, Galway was the plan and now that that has been achieved, he'll have a little holiday and come back for a graded chase at Gowran. He has so many options. These are real racing owners and I can't thank them enough as they follow him everywhere. I was so nervous all morning so I'm buzzing now as this horse doesn't understand the weight on his shoulders. I just felt that he won his beginners’ very easy and going to Galway he just lacked that bit of experience. This fell in lovely and it’s all roads to Galway now. He’ll run in the Grade 3 novice chase there. He won four last season and two this season, he’s only a baby. We went to Aintree, we felt we’d be placed in a Grade 1, but he had a little heart issue on the day over there. That’s all sorted now and he’s two from two after it. Eoin Christopher McCarthy

After race at Limerick Thu, 21st May, 2026 (1st)  The lads (Complete Package Syndicate) bought scarves with the horse's name printed going to Aintree, but were put back into the pockets quickly! We went over thinking we would genuinely be placed (in the Grade 1 Sefton Hurdle), but he had a little heart issue which, thanks to the vets, is now under control. He has the makings of a nice horse, loves the summer ground and we can dream for the summer. He is a born chaser, Galway (Grade 3 novice chase) is the plan and he is the type of horse we are trying to attract into the yard. The horse is named after Paddy McAuliffe, who had a good Flat horse with me in the past so, when I told him I had this good horse, he put a syndicate together. Paddy is a well-known character, as anyone who is a publican, politician and bookie is, and the syndicate are a great bunch of lads. Eoin Christopher McCarthy

After race at Limerick Sat, 18th Oct, 2025 (1st)  That is our first Listed horse and is my biggest win. It mightn't have been the strongest race but it still took winning, it is a lovely pot and the (Complete Package) syndicate are enjoying it. He is a big raw horse and is improving all the time so the dream is still alive. He is learning about the game and once he stays in one piece, he has a bright future. He won't go on winter ground so we'll put him away now until next spring. The syndicate are mad to travel (to Britain) but it was me all along who was holding back. We can now start about thinking about the likes of the Aintree festival and he has such a laid-back way of racing that you could aim him at a lot of different places. I was also delighted with Carrigg Island although Darragh (O'Keeffe) said he was leaning into the cut-up ground. He will make a lovely novice chaser next summer. Eoin Christopher McCarthy

Thu, 25th Sep, 2025  His owners include TJ and Dave Ryan who hurled for Limerick and the whole syndicate are coming to Listowel since they were children, so this is a big meeting for them. He is a lovely horse but things just didn't go his way in Bellewstown when he got shuffled back at the start. While everything went wrong, he still managed to run a lovely race. The drying ground was a huge help. He is a gorgeous, big, good looking horse and the only reason we were able to buy him for only €8,000 was nobody knew anything about the stallion (Shadow Gate). He will make a lovely chaser. I'll talk to the boys but he could go to Cheltenham in October. Eoin Christopher McCarthy

After race at Tipperary Wed, 14th May, 2025 (1st)  He was a big weak horse and just got light after a few runs. The lads (Complete Package Syndicate) that own him know the game and were good to give him time and a bit of patience. He got strong for the break, and I’m delighted to get a winner for them.
