O'Brien gets it spot on Ishvana
There may have only been five in the line-up but the [email protected] Race was a cracking little heat. Many punters won't remember it with fondness though as 6/1 chance Ishvana (successful on her only previous visit here) came out best under a well-executed Joseph O'Brien ride. Wed 02nd May

he is a very good colt and is a bit like his trainer in that he had a bit of temperament but has grown up better than I have! He is behaving better at the gates now. He has been second and third in Group 1s so we'd love to win one with him and I think he's a bit special. I was happy with his training coming here and while he was race fit, I thought that with ten stone on that ground, that the horse with the run (Maarek) might be the danger, but he won doing hand stands. He'll go for the Diamond Jubilee now.
Edward Lynam
That is a bit special as the owners (the Power family) also bred him. He is a bit like his trainer in that he has taken a while to mature and get his act together. He is still a big raw horse and he is learning about racing. We will look at the July Cup for him now. He will probably wear the blue cap (Sole Power is also likely to take his chance in that race). He broke his pelvis at Ascot last year and he had to spend three months over there recovering. Full credit to everyone concerned as they did a great with him.
Edward Lynam
He has a bit of class about him. I think he'll be very good. I didn't know his ground and I had to find out. I think he handled it. Wayne said he wasn't in love with it [ground]. He was in at Newbury yesterday but I didn't run him. In nine months ne could be very good.
Edward Lynam
We always liked him and we think he is a very good horse. He is a very bubbly type and we only do half speeds with him at home. His mother (Girl Power) was also very hot. She was like Sinead O'Connor on speed!
Edward Lynam
We've always liked him. About the 7th of July though, he sprung a curb (soft tissue injury on a hind leg).
Edward Lynam
