The official going for Day 2 - Ladies Day at Cheltenham is Soft, Heavy in places following a dry night.
Today is expected to remain dry and breezy and Clerk Of The Course Simon Claisse is hopeful that by the start of racing at 1.30pm the Heavy in places can be removed from the going description.
Jockey Patrick Mullins picked up a six day suspension for his use of the whip aboard Rathvinden in the National Hunt Amateur Riders' Novices' Steeplechase yesterday.
Mullins was adjudged to have used his whip above the permitted level and without giving his mount time to respond from the last fence.
The Plotting Shed, which was pulled up in the Close Brothers Novices' Handicap Chase on Tuesday, was found to have lost its left fore shoe in running.
Sizing Tennessee and Pylonthepressure in the Amateur race also lost shoes as did Beware The Bear and Wakanda (Ultima Handicap Chase) and Midnight Jazz (OLBG Mares Hurdle).
Mossbank (National Hunt Chase) and Report To Base (Close Brothers Chase) which both fell yesterday were fatally injured.
