Faugheen To Wear Cheek Pieces In Champion

Reigning Unibet Champion Hurdler Beveur D'air heads a field of 13 at the final declaration stage for the race this morning.

Beveur D'air is on of four Nicky Henderson trained horses set to line up for Tuesday's showpiece. Stablemates My Tent Or Your, Charli Parcs and Verdana Blue have also been declared.

Willie Mullins will saddle four - Faugheen, Melon, Yorkhill and Wicklow Brave as he attempts to win the coveted Grade 1 for the fifth time in eight years.

Owner Rich Ricci told Racing UK's Luck On Sunday programme: "We're looking for a little edge to give him his spark back."

"Cheek pieces for the first time will add something a little different."

Other Irish trained horses declared for Tuesda'y Champion Hurdle are Mick Jazz trained by Gordon Elliott and the Henry de Bromhead trained Identity Thief.
