Linger in Fred Winter mix

Shark Hanlon has high hopes for his Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle contender Linger.

The Cape Cross gelding heads to next week's Cheltenham Festival on the back of a brace at Ludlow and Market Rasen before the turn of the year.

"Linger hasn't done much wrong and has won his last two. He'll be an outsider but he's a good little horse and I think he'll give a good account of himself," said Hanlon.

Magna Cartor is set to line up as a huge outsider for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, but the trainer said: "The owners are keen to run Magna Cartor in the Supreme and we're also taking a very nice Stowaway mare called Posh Trish for the sale during the Festival.

"She won a point-to-point on Sunday by 17 lengths and is an exciting mare."
