Martin Bullish Over Doire Run
Tony Martin believes his Thyestes Chase winner Dun Doire holds 'a fair chance' in the ultra-competitive William Hill Handicap Chase at Cheltenham on Tuesday.
The seven-year-old is looking for his sixth success on the bounce following his Gowran run and Martin's charge is an 8-1 chance with Coral to shine at the Festival.
'Hopefully we have Dun Doire in good form,' Martin told At The Races.
'He had a little break after the Thyestes. He'll be going for the William Hill Handicap now if he makes the cut.
'Hopefully Paul Carberry will ride him if he doesn't ride one of Noel Meade's.
'Touch wood he looks to have a fair chance, he won well at Gowran and the way the weather is at the moment, that sort of ground won't inconvenience him.'
Martin also had news of his other Festival possible, Ross River.
'The plan is to run Ross River in the Racing Post Plate over two miles and five furlongs,' he said.
'He ran a good race over Christmas at Leopardstown in testing ground and he ran a good race back there in January when he was second, so hopefully he will go well too.'
