McCoy - I haven't been approached

Tony McCoy played down speculation that there is already an agreement in place that will see him partner Denman in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The Co. Antrim native, speaking on Channel 4's Morning Line, said: "No I haven't been approached, I mean I would imagine, like everyone, it will be interesting to see how he gets on and as a jockey it is nice to think that you're getting mentioned to ride a horse like Denman. I should think that any jump jockey would like to be mentioned like that."

Of course Denman makes his first appearance since his breathtaking win at Cheltenham last March in today's Levy Board Chase at Kempton (the Aon Chase salvaged from Newbury's abandoned card). The Presenting gelding was treated for a fibrillating heart last September. (EM)
