Plan A among Fred Winter field

Ante-post favourite Plan A heads a total of 24 six-day acceptors for the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle.

The four year old ran well behind Sam Winner at Cheltenham in December for Mick Quinlan before being transferred to Gordon Elliott for whom he won his only outing at Gowran in January and this race has always been the target.

Nicky Henderson has a strong hand in this race but Molotof and A Media Luz are notable absentees as the Lambourn handler relies on French import Celtus and Titan De Sarti.

Paul Nicholls trains the new top-weight Indian Daudaie and the rise in the weights will ensure that his other entry, Rock Of Deauville, will creep into the handicap proper.

Alan King also has two candidates at either end of the weights in Sandown third Kumbeshwar and Warwick runner-up Dhaafer.

There has been plenty of support for Whitby Jack in the last week and Gary Moore's runner has stood his ground as has another leading fancy in the Venetia Williams trained Tenor Nivernais.
