Hedgehunter Confirmed For Gold Cup

Grand National winner Hedgehunter has been confirmed as an intended runner in the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup.

And with Joe Tizzard set to partner the Paul Nicholls-trained Cornish Rebel, Ruby Walsh will renew his partnership with the 10-year-old.

'Hedgehunter will run in the Gold Cup,' said Michael Meager, racing manager to owner Trevor Hemmings.

'The decision was made this morning.

'Mr Hemmings and Willie Mullins spoke this morning and the horse will run, all being well anyway.

'Obviously the recent rain in the area helped us make the decision and any further rain will help his chance further still.

'Ruby will ride him so we are just hoping for the best now.'
