Impek Ready To Roll In Ryanair
Henrietta Knight confirmed that Impek will run in the Ryanair Chase and not the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Last seen finishing third behind Kicking King and Monkerhostin in the Stan James King George VI Chase at Sandown, the 10-year-old had two possible assignments at the Cheltenham Festival.
But following negotiations with Impek's owner Jim Lewis, Knight revealed the gelding will take his chance in the Ryanair Chase over two miles, five furlongs.
'If he'd run in the Gold Cup we would have had to find another jockey but by running him in the Ryanair, Tony McCoy can ride him,' said Knight.
