Inca and Sublimity head Toshiba market
William Hill have installed former Champion hurdlers Brave Inca and Sublimity as their 5-2 joint favourites for this Sunday's Toshiba Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown.
The pair were among 13 horses that stood their ground at the final entry stage for the Grade 1 contest.
Also included in the line-up is the dual Champion hurdler Hardy Eustace.
Noel Meade will rely on Muirhead in the race after the multiple Irish Champion trainer initially entered five horses in the race, but decided not to declare Aitmatov, Jazz Messenger, Jered, and Harchibald.
Other notable entries in the race include Henry De Bromhead's stable star Sizing Europe, the Harry Roger's-trained Silent Oscar and last year's Grade 1 Eventus Marquees Champion Juvenile Hurdler winner - Won In The Dark.
Willie Mullins won't have a runner in the race.
The current Champion trainer decided not to declare the 2007 Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Ebaziyan or the talented Hurricane Fly.
William Hill's Irish spokesman Tony Kenny commented: "The Irish Champion Hurdle has always been one of the major Smurfit Champion hurdle trial's, and fingers crossed we'll see a genuine Cheltenham contender emerge out of Sunday's race."
"Brave Inca has been the main mover in the market.
"We initially made him an 8-1 chance for the Irish Champion, but the weight of money behind him over the last few days has forced us to slash his odds for the race."
Toshiba Irish Champion Hurdle (William Hill bet): 5-2 Sublimity, Brave Inca, 9-2 Muirhead, Sizing Europe, 10-1 Won In The Dark, 12-1 Hardy Eustace, 20-1 Silent Oscar, 25-1 Beau Michael, River Liane, 50-1 Larkwing, 66-1 Swiftmarc, 100-1 Allez Petit Luis, 200-1 Oscinllating Oscar.
