Vinny provides Mullins with sixth bumper win
Willie Mullins recorded his sixth victory in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper with Cousin Vinny, ridden by the trainer?s teenage son Patrick.
The five-year-old gelding, successful on his only previous start at Punchestown last month, was sent to the front on the home turn by his amateur rider and stayed on strongly despite showing greenness.
The 12/1 chance drifting over to the far rail but still had three and a quarter lengths to spare over Corskeagh Royale (7-1), with 3/1 favourite Zaarito completing a 1-2-3 for the Irish a further three-quarters of a length behind.
Mullins also saddled Lilywhitedancer and Apt Approach to finish fifth and sixth respectively.
