Walsh unsure over Hurricane ride

Ruby Walsh admits he's in the dark over whether he'll ride Hurricane Fly in the Stan James Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Paul Townend has struck up a good partnership with Willie Mullins' charge during his fellow jockey's spell on the sidelines, winning three Grade One contests, taking his tally aboard the Montjeu gelding to six wins from seven rides.

Walsh has ridden Ireland's leading two mile hurdler just twice, winning on both occasions.

While his rides for the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup, Ladbrokes World Hurdle and sportingbet Queen Mother Champion Chase are finalised, Walsh admits he has no idea over whether he will get the call for the opening day feature.

"I haven't talked to Willie about it - it's a decision for him and the owners. I ride Quevega, Big Buck's, Kauto Star and Master Minded. After that I haven't looked at the rest of them" he told Racing UK.
