An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Imperial Rule (IRE), which finished third, beaten a neck, ridden by Ross Chapman and trained by Lizzie Quinlan, in the closing stages of the race.
Chapman was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated that his mount was not travelling forward in the final half furlong and was hanging markedly left-handed onto the rail, which he reported at scales.
As a result, he was unable to fully ride the horse out to the line.
He further explained that, with the second-placed horse finishing strongly, he maintained that he had achieved the best possible placing.
His explanation was noted.
