Femme Magnifique  We said we’d take a chance. The race she was in at Killarney (last week) was called off for unfortunate reasons and this race popped up,. You could maybe pick holes in the form of Henry’s horse (Le Coq Hardi - pulled up), that he’s maybe been unreliable at times. We were stepping up in trip. Gordon’s horse (Ma Jacks Hill) made a mistake, in fairness, but we were coming and coming. Danny said he was never overly happy throughout the race. She has gone on winter ground but I don’t know about this track for her, even though she’s won. I think she might be better on a level track. I’m delighted for the lads and delighted to have her. That’s three wins in four runs. They are a great bunch and I’m delighted to have a horse for them as it’s a good story behind the syndicate with Cian (Quirke) and all the lads. |

Princess Felicia she'd a good first run for us in Clonmel last year but has small feet and the ground went for her. Her owner Andria and Johnny Cummins do some pre-training, so took her home for the winter. When she came back to me, she'd got a lot stronger and it took just a while to get her ready. She was just nabbed in Tramore and the longer trip suited her here. She's a grand filly who likes a bit of nice ground, and will go for something similar next. |

Louiescall He was unlucky not to have won at this festival last year when he missed the last hurdle,. Today was the plan and going on the inside is a big help to a horse like him, so Dan gave him a great ride. It is unfortunate for Cian (Quirke) to miss out as he is out injured. He had been slow coming to himself this year but when he starts to bolt with you at home, that's a sign he is back. He goes to the start early. He defied his penalty and the handicapper might leave him on the same mark, so we'll see. He is owned by (Galway Hurdle-winning owner) Ray Grehan's son Bryan and Gerry Hughes, who is a foreman in their building company. |
