Tramore Sat, 30th May, 2026
Butch Coolidge He’s a year older now and it (improvement) goes with that family,. said Kelly. A hood was a big help to him as well, he just lost his race at the start a few days last year. I’m delighted for the lads, the horse was working really well at home and we would have been disappointed going home if he didn’t go close. You never know with racehorses, I had a horse that we liked a lot in Listowel today and it just didn’t happen for him. He’s a nice horse, jumps well and jumps a fence well. We’re starting the season on the right note. He won it with a nice bit in hand. We entered him in it thinking it might be a worse race but it wasn’t the worst race in the world for an ‘unplaced maiden’. I’m delighted and very grateful to the lads for sending on these horses. |

Femme Magnifique I’m delighted to have her. I’m very grateful that the lads, the Dillon Quirke syndicate, sent her to me,. She came from Paul Kiely’s and came in great nick. We got the rub of the green today and she was game. I’m delighted for the lads, it’s unfortunate for Cian who was due to ride her but Danny Gilligan did a great job. He sat where he was comfortable, let her find her feet and came home well. She’ll probably stay a bit further. She works better than 105 horse. We have her about six weeks and I said she’ll either bring it to the course or she won’t. If you were a backing man you’d be backing her on her work, but I don’t back horses. You don’t know with horses that are after being in a couple of yards. I’m gutted for Cian but delighted for him at the same time as he’s part of the syndicate. He owns the mare and leased her out. |

Faceman It was a toss of a coin whether we’d go for this or the chase today,. He was unlucky the last day (fell in Tramore). He was jumping great, but just reached for a fence and it was one of those things. Thankfully he was okay after it. We wanted to see where we were, if we had improved over hurdles. This family improves with time and you don’t really know at home as he only shows x amount. I’m delighted for the lads (John and Michael Bowe), they are great supporters of mine and we’re having great luck together. He’s a lovely horse to have anything to do with and of course he’s out of the great mare (Solerina). I’d say he’ll mix and match it during the summer. |

Airds Moss He is a nice horse who had a very good first bumper run, but is still green and a baby. Alistair (Spittal, owner from Ayrshire) had him with Rob Tector in point-to-points and the horse came highly recommended to me by Rob. Tim Nolan (Jamestown House Stud) bought and produced him and did a great job too. He backed up his Cork run, which is great, and this Alistair's second bumper winner from two horses with us. He is here since Saturday, so is going home a happy man. |
