I’m trying to buy horses that are not obvious, I’m trusting what my friends are telling me and it’s working out well. he’s not this year’s horse and is for jumping a fence in a year’s time. He’s only four and is 17 hands. He loved the soft ground and stayed going well. He did things wrong, so there is a lot of improvement to come from him but there needs to be. at Fairyhouse last April, something happened him at the second hurdle where he was pulled up. It appeared he was injured and a screen went up around him, but thankfully he was ok although he became a bit frightened. The ground was too good for him at Listowel the last day and I was delighted to see the dig in the ground today. He has some toe on soft ground which he doesn’t have on good. We’ll keep him over hurdles for now but he’ll jump a fence in time. Sean (O’Keeffe) is riding well and is a good jockey.

he is a lovely big horse and Josh gave him a super ride. He jumped brilliantly and just idled in front. I was a bit nervous coming to the second-last but after idling a bit, he stayed on well. I think he will come forward from the run and we'll step him back up in trip again. We'll look for something similar or a rated novice next. Fair play to Josh, who is a great little rider.

The only thing I was worried about was the two miles, as he wants 2m4f or three. Adam jumped out and kept it simple and the horse jumps well. For a Walk In The Park, he only cost E13,000 at the Landrover Sale and he has now won a bumper and maiden hurdle. He's not a bad horse to have. If he had been beaten today we were thinking about leaving him until next summer but we'll look for a rated novice now. He goes on any ground. The owners have had Flat winners with me but this is their first jump horse. We'll have to get them another one.

he won his bumper here the same way, when he came down the hill he showed a good turn of foot, was interested in what he was doing and went on and won,. His jumping was pretty ok, I think he'll be sharper the next day but I'm delighted with him. He is a grand horse and is a half-brother to (stablemate) Unexpected Depth. We have no plan and came here today to see how he'd behave and perform. I'd say he'll run at Christmas but I'm not sure he likes heavy ground, yielding or soft ground probably suits him.

We were very disappointed in him in Fairyhouse (second) - he's a big, immature horse and it has taken a long time for the penny to drop. It looks like it is dropping there now. He'll probably go straight to the final (in Punchestown) now, and he will be a nice chaser for next year. He's very versatile ground-wise - Keith (Donoghue) rode him on proper heavy a few days and he handled it, and he ran well with Donagh (Meyler) in Leopardstown on better ground.
