We've always thought an awful lot of him, since he was two, and he's a great work horse at home,. He was unlucky in the big race at Galway (fourth in Topaz Mile) when he got stopped by one of ours coming up the hill. After the two mils of rain that fell the ground is heavy but loose and we half fancied him. He's a gorgeous looking horse and we'd have been disappointed if he didn't do what he did today. He's probably one for the horses-in-training sale at Newmarket and he could be a nice dual purpose horse. G M Lyons, trainer

The Stewards requested a report from G.M.Lyons, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Third Dimension (GB), placed first, as compared with its most recent run at the Curragh on August 30th, when finishing 13th of 22 runners and was beaten by thirteen and a half lengths. Shane Lyons, trainers representative, reported that a more patient ride in what was he felt was a lesser race, had brought about the improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted its content.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (100 = 9st 12lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 12lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 100 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 12lb. Subsequently, the excess over 100 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 100 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
