Formscan By Gary Carson - This looks like a tricky enough contest and EMMELEIA may prove the answer. The Camelot filly made a winning return at Dundalk at the start of the month and that form has been given a boost since, with stablemate Eretria going on to score impressively in Leopardstown. She holds Oaks entries at Epsom and the Curragh and is highly regarded. Aidan O’Brien saddles three with Ryan Moore taking the mount on Ice Dancer. This Wootton Bassett filly was staying on when third in Group 3 company on her final outing last term and should improve for a trip this year. Thundering On was ahead of Ice Dancer when second in the Staffordstown Stud Stakes and also has to be on the shortlist.

Eddie and Wendy (O'Leary, owners) had her at the breeze-ups in May but she wasn't making enough money. Eddie liked her so much that he decided to hang on to her, and she just took time to mature and develop. I think she is going to do well with a little bit more time, she's a lovely big filly and will be lovely in time. Gavin just said she's a lovely, uncomplicated, straightforward filly. He said to jump out wherever you are, get in a rhythm and just make the best of your way home then and see how you go. He said she is doing everything right at home, and said he would be disappointed if she didn't run a big race. She hit the line strong and it was a great trip for a first time out. I definitely think she will step up in trip in time.

She's a nice filly and we thought this trip would suit her well, plenty of stamina in the pedigree. I think she has improved. They pulled well clear of the third which is a good sign. They have been working together at home, and I thought they were both working nicely. She (Eretria) was ready to run, I was eager to get a start into her on a sound surface. She will hopefully be a nice filly going forward, and she'll improve plenty from that.
