Formscan By Dan McEvoy - CONTRARY TO LAW (8) has been an eyecatcher throughout his career and still proves a difficult ride in the hood for Ben Coen. After sustained market support at Fairyhouse, he broke his duck, getting up in the final strides, and a 7lb rise may not stop further progress. Thenandnow had some good form in maidens before winning a Curragh contest comfortably. Thereafter, she was tried in listed company, and although not able to cope with that class rise, she should have finished second on handicap debut. Therefore, Jessica Harrington's filly should be involved again. Watch Tower enters calculations after his Leopardstown success, though an 8lb rise asks more of him. Barbapapa may also bounce back now dropped in grade.

Quotes on Little Empire (IRE)
Absolutely delighted with him. We had two bad days in York this year and the owner stuck by him. I knew we had a good horse on our hands. He's entered here for six furlongs on Wednesday and he probably will go for it. The penalty will bring him well into the handicap. It was (a competitive race) and I've to thank Luke McAteer who told me the last time to put Patrick on him to claim the 7lb off, and that that would be massive (for him). He'll probably get on him again on Wednesday. No, absolutely not (winning out of turn) - his form has been pretty solid. Probably my own fault for running him over the mile, I thought he would stay that being a Holy Roman Emperor, but he just showed there tonight that he has bundles of speed. We have to take our hats off to the young lad who rode him, Tommie Jakes, who was buried today. Tommie rode a double for me that night in April of last year (at Wolverhampton). We'd like to dedicate this win to young Tommie.

Quotes on Watch Tower (IRE)
He's been promising to do that. Everything was wrong. We turned up in Limerick the other day and, the ground was gone. He pulled shoes and whatever; it wasn't his day. We just galloped him around which in hindsight helps them. It gets the freshness off them. It was a long time between drinks with him. You can see him. He's just maturing into himself. Hopefully there is another one of them in him. Fast ground is the key; seven(furlongs) to a mile. Just win his races before we move them on.

Quotes on Eddie G (IRE)
He's a lovely little horse. He was unlucky in Galway this year and the handicapper gave him 4lb for that. He gave him 4lb for being second another day as well and sometimes when horses like this get two penalties for being second, they struggle. . Thankfully we got away with it and he got his win for the year. He was off injured early in the year, so it's great. . Padraic (Connolly) and the syndicate are from Galway and that was his first run in Galway this year when we ran him first time back.

Quotes on Contrary To Law (IRE)
He’s a horse that has been given us a bit of trouble at home. He’s keen and we were running him over six furlongs just to try and hold on to him. I thought the step up to seven would suit him today, in a race like this with plenty of pace. Ben said he relaxed well, was a bit green when he went for him first, but he said he finished the race out strongly. He hasn’t been doing that. We’re happy that he has today and he’s on the right track. Hopefully, he can keep improving now. He’s bred to probably stay another furlong, but I’d say seven is a good trip at the moment.
