THE BETMGM ALL-WEATHER VASE FILLIES' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) Permission was given for Cool Molly (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood; and for Lady Dora Mae (IRE) and Elizabetty (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held into the start of this race and the participation of Party Bear (IRE), ridden by Jack Nicholls.
The rider and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
Having heard their evidence and reviewed the start the Stewards were satisfied that although there was a stalls handler in the stalls settling the filly, they did not have hold of the mare when the start was effected.
As such they considered that Party Bear (IRE) had refused to race and deemed the mare to be a runner.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one furlong out, involving Lady Dora Mae (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jack Callan and Searchingtheblues (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tyler Heard.
Callan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed when insufficiently clear, causing Heard to take a check for a couple of strides against the rail.
Approximately one furlong out, Madame De Sevigne (IRE), placed third, shifted right-handed at the same time as So Sassy (IRE), placed fifth, had committed for a run, causing him to be tight for room against Dandy Khan (IRE), placed sixth.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Madame De Sevigne (IRE).
