I won this race previously with On The Go Again (in the 2018 renewal, at Naas) and we knew this fella would take a lot of beating. In those conditions, he’s a hard horse to beat and this has been the plan since last backend - the Lincoln was the goal. He was travelling all the way and I was just a little worried that he had hit the front a bit early, but we knew he’d get the trip well. He’s a grand big horse and that’s what you want for those conditions. I’m delighted for the owner/breeders (Lee Regan Partnership) and this is the first horse they bred, so they had to keep him, and he’s been lucky. We booked Declan McDonogh, as Gary Carroll couldn’t do the weight and I feel sorry for Wesley (Joyce) who is stable jockey but the owner wanted a senior lad. We’ll probably have to go again shortly with Ribee, while he has his ground.

He's a wonderful horse. We had him last year and we always loved him. He has just been a little bit frustrating, and he has done very little wrong, to be fair to him. He won first time out and then was touched off in a couple of races. His training was a little bit interrupted from silly things between ground and pulled muscles here and there. He is owned by some great people, and they are very patient and have been very good to us. We are delighted for them. He'll go on his holidays now. He deserves it as he has been on the go a while. It is a difficult thing to do, win a handicap off 98. It is a tough thing to do. He travels really well, doesn't kill himself when he gets there. I can't wait to step him up in trip. I just think if he puts himself to sleep in races, he has got a good turn of foot, and he might be difficult to beat over a mile and a-quarter. He won't go any further than that. He's just a lovely horse and I'd say he will probably end up competing in Listed and Group races.

I thought that she'd been up here and had a good experience the last day so let's come back here. Win, lose or draw she'd learn a lot more today, which she did. She's a great walking filly, she's an athlete, and we just took our time with her. We're happy with that. We'll come back here for the Matron, I don't know if we'll do anything before that. She's a light-framed filly and she doesn't take much work. They were going a good clip today, the last day was a maiden whereas this was a Group 3 with proper hardy horses in it. I just loved the way she picked up when she went through the gears. Billy thought there was still more there. She obviously flows over good ground so that's what she'll be running on, we'll keep her on that.

I’d say it was a good renewal of the race, a very competitive Group 3. I was delighted with her as it was only her second start. She won over a mile here last year and my concern was that seven might be a little too sharp for her. My reason for running her was that she would learn a lot from it, and I thought she came home very nicely. We’ll see how she comes out of the race, but my present thoughts would be to head for something like the Irish 1,000 Guineas. She is a filly that will hopefully get ten furlongs as the season progresses.
