Once-raced Interpretation made a winning reappearance to beat 86-rated runner-up Safecracker in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at the Curragh, scoring a first Derby weekend win for trainer Aidan O'Brien and jockey Ryan Moore.

The son of Galileo's only previous run was when fourth at the Kildare course last November and today battled well for a length win over Safecracker.

Interpretation carries the colours of American Peter Brant, who joined the Coolmore triumvirate in 2018, and whose Monarch Of Egypt was a smart colt for the combination last year.

Following the race trainer O’Brien reported “Ryan said he liked the ground. I think he’ll stay further and have no problem with a mile and a half anyway. Those type of horses can progress and he went to the line with his ears pricked.”
