Regally bred Finsceal Go Deo gained her belated maiden win at the 17th attempt today, landing Dundalk's Bar One Racing Sign Up Offer Maiden for owner/breeder Michael Ryan and trainer Jim Bolger.

Both men raced the winner's dam Finsceal Beo during a career which yielded Irish and English 1,000 Guineas in 2007 and missed out, by a head, on a historic treble in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliche — the French version of the mile classic.

Today Finsceal Go Deo made all, running in a first-time tongue-tie, when beating Swan Band by four lengths, ending a frustrating spell for the 70-rated daughter of leading stallion Kingman.

Bolger's travelling head man Ger Flynn said "it all goes down to the perseverance of the owner and the trainer.

“To be fair to Michael (Ryan), he could easily have stopped at any stage during the summer and put her into the breeding shed without winning her maiden but decided to keep going and all credit to him. They saw an opportunity this evening and they took it.

“She has made the running in the past and we thought with her experience we'd make it again tonight. Rory (Cleary, jockey) jumped out, he got a lead and did the fractions lovely at 33-35mph all the way. She quickened up into the straight and put the race to bed.

“We'll keep her going for the winter as she loves this surface."

Finsceal Go Deo was the second such blue-blood to win at Dundalk this week as, on Wednesday, top racemare Alpha Centauri's first foal Saturn gained his maiden success
