DUBAI MILLENNIUM THE BEST - DETTORI

Frankie Dettori today hiled Dubai World Cup winner Dubai Millennium as "undoubtedly the best horse I have ever ridden".

Back in the domestic winner's circle at Windsor, the Italian explained that Dubai Millennium, a six-length scorer in the first leg of the Emirates World Series, never stops surprising him.

Dettori enthused: "Even I was shocked at how he did it and he's an amazing horse. He just wanted to go and I let him and when I watched it again this morning it was unbelievable.

"He's the best I've ridden and has had the potential right from the beginning.

"This last month he's been doing things in training that he's never done before and has proved what we believed all along that he's a great champion."

Coral today cut Dubai Millennium to 5-1 from 6-1 for this year's Breeders' Cup Classic following substantial ante-post support including two individual four-figure bets.

The Barking firm offered the 6-1 immediately after the colt's blistering success in Dubai and began laying bets at that price within minutes.

"Dubai Millennium's performance was so spectacular it was not surprising that we were knocked over for the 6-1 especially as the Classic is his number one target," said Coral spokesman Simon Clare.

"We held the price at 6-1 all day today to let the man in the street get his bet on but were forced to take evasive action this afternoon."

Coral also make Dubai Millennium a 6-1 chance for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot.

However Dettori does not envisage owner Sheikh Mohammed asking Dubai Millennium to race over the mile and a half - over which he experienced his only defeat in last year's Vodafone Derby.

He added: "He's matured and is much more focused now and don't forget that he's only run seven times in his life. If we can keep him like that until the end of the year it will be fantastic."

Kieren Fallon paid a separate tribute to Sir Michael Stoute's Fantastic Light, on whom he landed the Dubai Sheema Classic, saying: "It was a great race to win and a great place to be. I was delighted with Fantastic Light and he looks to be in for a great year."
