Shane Foley continues to blaze clear in the Jockeys' Championship and partnered his 36th winner this term when steering the Jessica Harrington trained Dickiedooda to win the Listed Coolmore Caravaggio Tipperary Stakes at Cork today.

The daughter of Starspangledbanner had beaten today's 13/8 favourite Grammata by 1.25L when winning on the pair's respective debuts at the Curragh in June and today confirmed that form, almost identically, when beating Grammata by 1.75L.

Afterwards Foley, who leads nearest Championship-pursuer Colin Keane by 12 winners, stated “I thought she would confirm form with Grammata as the ground was very dead at Ascot and the quicker the ground the better for her.

“She has improved even from Ascot and has grown. She is an exciting fast filly, is by a very good stallion and I think getting six furlongs will be no problem in time.

“The syndicate (Alpha Racing 2020) have had a lot of luck this year so far and this is an important win for them.”

The Tipperary Stakes was first run in 2001 and today was the second time the race has moved venue, having taken place at Dundalk in 2009.
