Dinny Lacey (4/1) won the the Jack Tyner Memorial Hunters Chase for trainer James Motherway and jockey Harry Swan.

Three were in line at the third-last but Somptueux who had made a lot of the running, fell at the next when still in with every chance.

The 4/6 favourite Ultimate Optimist led between the final two fences but blundered at the last and Dinny Lacey took advantage to go on and beat the market leader by three and three quarter lengths.

A bumper and novice chase winner, the Presenting gelding was runner-up on just his second start in point-to-points at Castlelands last month.

Motherway commented: "He lost his way a bit and Brian (Acheson, owner) suggested we go back pointing him this year and we were hoping to qualify him for the Aintree Foxhunters but ran out of time.

"It is nice to get the win with him and we had a doubt all season was he seeing out the three-miles. He had a good run behind Lord Schnitzel last time and Harry (Swan) gave him a super ride today and got some super leaps out of him.

"I'm thrilled to get the win for Brian and Rob (Acheson) who are great supporters of ours. The lads might be anxious to run in Punchestown and he'll definitely get an entry anyway and fingers crossed for next season then."
