Everglow gained a deserved victory over fences with a battling performance in the beginners chase at Kilbeggan.

Noel Meade 's charge had been placed on three of his previous four outings over fences and made no mistake tonight.

Denis O'Regan tracked front-runner Caesar Rock in the three-mile-one contest and sent the 9/2 shot to the front after the second last.

He was joined before the last by Chinx Of Light but the Presenting gelding dug deep in the closing stages to secure a head victory.

“He was very game. It was a great training performance with him having only run a week ago and he had a hard race too,” said O'Regan.

“A step up in trip helped and he jumped well today. He'll be a nice horse going forward in staying handicap chases.”

It was a double on the night for O'Regan following the earlier victory of Sargent Lightfoot
