Lady McCabe (5/1) is a mare in form and built on her Wexford win when landing the the (0-95) handicap chase in good style.

Another ten-year-old daughter of Yeats, like earlier winner Frazel Express Darragh O’Keeffe’s mount went down the inner the whole way and tracked the leaders before racing clear on the run to the second-last.

She stayed on well to beat Walking The Walk by eight lengths with 9/4 favourite Four Horsemen three quarters of a length further away in third.

The winner is owned and trained by Killeagh, Co Cork-based Martin Fitzgerald who said: “Darragh is getting on great with her. The longer distance at Wexford is after giving her confidence and the further she went there the better she was travelling.

“I was a bit worried today coming back half a mile but the ground probably takes a little more getting than summer ground and she stays galloping. It was a good performance.

“There is nothing coming up for five weeks so we took a bit of a roll of the dice today coming back in trip.

“There is plenty of long distance chases over the summer and hopefully she might win another one.

“She was meant to go in foal a month ago but she’s started winning now so we’ll have to put that on the long finger.”
