The Hong Kong Jockey Club bought one attractive colt at the recent Goffs Orby Sale in Ireland for a total outlay of €220,000 (approx. HK$2.022 million).

The Club’s sole involvement was Lot 39, a son of Starspangledbanner - Champion Sprinter of Australia (2009) and Europe (2010) whose racing career encompassed top-level wins in both hemispheres ranging from 1100m to 1600m. As a sire, he is proving himself to be adept with a number of high-class, speedy performers in Hong Kong - including Styling City, Igniting and California Spangle among his progeny.

This striking youngster - chestnut in colour with a white blaze - is out of the mare French Flirt who has had two foals to race for two winners. One of these is a full-brother, Symbolize, who placed twice as a three-year-old at G3 and G2 level, respectively.
