Drumbear made a winning debut at Downpatrick today as the John McConnell trained gelding landed the concluding Molson Coors (Pro-Am) Bumper under jockey Ben Harvey.

The son of So You Think ran in a tongue-tie today, scored a three lengths win over runner-up Tempo Chapter Two with McConnell afterwards saying “we thought he was a nice horse. He's very big and a baby and he is just going to get better.

"He is flat bred and probably not slow, so he is one to look forward to. He won't be over-raced - if he goes for a winners' bumper I'd say that will be it for the year.

“Ben (Harvey) said he wouldn't want it any quicker than that and said he will handle softer.

"I'm sure he will go over hurdles (next season).”
