Review TRAMORE 16TH AUG

James O'Farrell, seventeen-year-old son of Co Kilkenny owner/trainer Seamus O'Farrell, partnered his second career winner when guiding his father's Take A Drop to a facile frontrunning success in the opening WLR FM (QR) Maiden /hurdle at a well-attended Tramore last night. In all probability, the Farhaan-sired Take A Drop will now go handicap hurdling.

Wicklow handler Prunella Dobbs was credited with her initial training success following Celio's facile frontrunning victory in the Mean Fiddler Handicap Chase. Incidentally, Celio races in the colours of the 550-member Jack Of Trumps Racing Club.

Leslie Young combined with Paul Scallan, rider of the Irish Derby runner-up Sholokhov, to collect the Noel Cummins SP Bookmaker Handicap with Macintosh Man. A graduate of last December's Tattersalls sale at Fairyhouse, Macintosh Man could now contest a similar race at Tralee.

Paul Roche and Gordon Power teamed-up to collect the Curran Food Handicap with the ex-British trained Ticker and the four-year-old could turn out again here tomorrow (Sunday).

Favourite backers were on the mark when Ruby Walsh produced the Paddy Mullins-trained Kilcarrig House to deny Beaufort Belle by a neck in the Kiely Gaule Financial Services Handicap Hurdle.

Pat Cosgrave piloted his first winner around this tight undulating circuit when guiding the Dermot Weld-trained Lines Of Battle to a comprehensive front running success over the staying-on Any News in the Anglo Irish Bank Maiden.

Sonnerschien led from three furlongs to take the closing O'Neills Bar Flat Race with Philip Dempsey.
